I missed the first question:
so when n is divided by 7 the remainder is 5 so
n = 7k + 5
but we need 2n so we multiply by 2
2n = 14k + 10
factor out 7...
2n = 7(2k) + 10
==> the remainder when 2n is divided by 7 is 10
