I think you have misunderstood me. I'm talking about when people come across a word (eg in A&A), don't know what it means (hardly surprising as some of the words there are somewhat esoteric), and then appear to guess at a meaning instead of looking it up.

Just seems to be happening more these days.

The common excuse for not bothering to write properly seems to be that the writer is constrained for time. This is a forum used by students and/or people in the education industry and if this forum's users cannot be bothered to write properly, then ....
