i hope that i will have the chance to compete with you for these schools - have my gmat in about two weeks...
about the CAT - i`m not sure how does it work with real test but from my experience with the GPrep I am getting more and more conviced that the first questions are not everything. Yesterday I scored Q50 with 6 wrong answers where the first two were on
q4 and q5. Stupid mistakes but...
the same with the verbal section - probably because my mistakes are usually uniformly distributed but it depends pretty much on the number of wrong answers and actually on the question type
example from yesterday:
V36 - 11 wrong (critical reasoning 3/11, reading comprehension 5/13, SC 3/17)
V41 - 10 wrong (critical reasoning 4/11, reading comprehension 3/14, SC 3/16)
seems to me like critical reasoning counts most...unfortunately this is also my weakness
