I have particular interest in International Marketing, Social Marketing, Entrepreneurial Marketing, and Sports Marketing. I really would like to take a path that combines international and entrepreneurial marketing - but who knows what I'll actually end up with. I'm applying pretty much on the east coast, MA, CT, PA, and NC, and TX. All states are relatively close to family and offer good options.
I am leaning heavily toward academia, but definitely have the private sector in the back of my mind. I think, I ideally, I would take the academic route and have a small family business to satisfy my profiteering side.
I've found the AMA to be incredibly helpful - and even if you arent' a member, they have a great section under academic resources/careers that, if you navigate through properly, you can get to good info on program requirements, admissions stats, and rankings. Let me know if you are interested and I'll scrounge up some specific links for you.
When would you look to begin a phd program?
