Back to business.....
What kinds of jobs do your students get after graduation?
In recent years, about 51% of our graduates have taken jobs in academic institutions, including universities and colleges throughout the world; about 27% have taken jobs in private-sector firms, including banks, investment houses, and consulting firms; about 22% have taken jobs in government financial and regulatory institutions, including the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Federal Reserve system, and central banks from other countries; and about 1% went on to further study, such as law school. Among those who took academic jobs, about 28% took their first jobs at universities with the top 20 economics departments in the United States (according to a *recent ranking*).

Yet, the quality of academic placements from UChicago is not that good, barely comparable to top 10-15 schools... And although John List seems like a friendly professor, my friend who is doing his PhD in econ at UChicago complains non-stop that most of the faculty treat the students there rather badly...
