I am still having them. I know that I can be licensed as a pharmacist in MI now since I applied before June 30, last year, but again no chance to move. I let CA Intern expire since I could not move there.
I know some members here in this forum have many pharmacy licenses in many states but they cannot move so they do not practice.
Oh! After elaborating some disadvantages of being pharmacists and living in America, I forgot to mention the best and strongest point.
Most of the time, if you have good reasons to present your standpoint, your voices and your opinions will be listened. The justice system in this country is strong. Many Americans prefer to be lawyers rather than to be employees in healthcare if they think they are smart. I am not saying that people who work in healthcare in this country are not smart but a majority of Americans tend to like to be or to have their children study in law schools. This attitude draws many good and smart people to choose to work in the justice system.
This always creates problems. Companies such as Microsoft or other software companies go abroad to search for talented candidates in other countries where sciences and math are emphasized in their curriculum in schools. Many third world countries cannot develop much because of weak justice systems resulting in instabilities of politic situations. When political situations in those countries are not stable, they usually affect economic situations since investors from outside those countries are not confident to invest and bring money and jobs there.
Actually, I just came back from a court hearing. I went to explain my situation. I received a parking ticket. That day, I saw a police writing a ticket and put it in the front of my wind-shield while I was crossing a busy street. The ticket has expired for 3 minutes. I explained reasons and the judge listened very well and reduced the fee.
In my home country, a majority of people like to study and to be doctors, not lawyers. Good students all become doctors. After they finish M.D., they come to study abroad. Good doctors work in hospitals. What happens next? Then, we can have good workforce to work in hospitals. When good doctors work in hospitals, hospitals become famous all over the world. What happens next? Many people in Europe and America send patients to receive medical treatments over there. This is another example. That’s why we cannot stop people to mobilize. Transportations make it possible for goods and services to become available worldwide.
You cannot stop free market. Demand and supply will balance eventually.
We are in an Era of Globalization.
The end...
