Hi MASHURA,

Thought of that too before accepting RiteAid offer. Came up with this budget as I consulted with friends. I'll be going to Virginia so this is more or less how I see monthly expenses:

Tax 30%
Health Insurance 2%
Housing $550 (I will have 1 roommate in a 2-bedroom apartment)
Utilities $140
Car $400
Gas $ 75
Grocery $100 (depends on individual)
Clothing/Shopping $100 (men, women need this. to my fellow girlies, i know! this isn't much!!!! haha! need to budget dears)
Dining $100
Miscellaneous expenses $100
Saving for NAPLEX etc fee $125
Savings ATLEAST 5%

Utilities is due to water $15, electricity $75, home phone $45, mobile phone $45, cable $55. Note that your mobile phone bill will not be divided into 2.

For Car, you still need to make around $2,500 downpayment IF you don't have a credit history. However, if you have friends or loved ones with credit history who will be willing to co-sign your loan, you can forego with this downpayment. Again, car payments will depend on the car you choose.

Gas depends on how far your store from home is and how often/frequent/far you travel.

Clothing budget will eventually be eating up a smaller portion of budget as time goes by. Initial though, allocation of $100 monthly while we are building up on clothes isn't much I seriously think.

Dining budget refers to going out for special dinners. Maybe with friends, maybe with loved ones, or maybe just pamperng yourself. You can do away with this if you want.

Miscellaneous expenses refers to medicines (either for co-pays or those not covered in some health plans) or anything else I might not have foreseen.

Remember, we still need to save up for our NAPLEX, MPJE, i dont know what else.

To everyone, please feel free to comment.

As to assistance from companies, RiteAid does give relocation allowance; I have friends with Walgreens and know they do too. Again, amount depends on area.

Hope this helps.
