As far as I know,
depending on the state, required internship hours range from 500 to 1500 hours. NOT 10,000. These are paid internships REQUIRED for one to have a Pharmacist License. So in essence, it is classified as working; because you will be paid. That's why an H1B visa is required. Read
NABP <> National Association of Boards of Pharmacy to understand better. But to hopefully simplify, it is basically:
TOEFL + FPGEE = FPGECertificate
FPGEC + State Internship License + acceptance of Sponsor offer = H1B application by sponsor
H1B approval = Eligibility to complete Internship hours
completion of Internship Hours = NAPLEX Eligibility
passing NAPLEX = Pharmacy License
Again, depending on state, there may be some slight variations in these steps/requirements.
Guys new to this, I know all these processes can be mind-boggling. But I urge you, especially those who already received their FPGEC, read the paper that came with your certificate! It has all the links and contact details of each states' Board of Pharmacy that you need for your
next step. Make sure you read those papers first before asking. Everyone is trying to help each other, but please understand, everyone is tense with their own concerns too. So hopefully, just valid questions please.
Egyptian Pharmacist, I know your question is valid. Just saying it to everyone in general. Hope I didn't offend you. So guess I can say now... "
Welcome aboard!!!!
