Hello everyone
My name is temi , I went to pharmacy school in Nigeria and although English is not my first language we did study in English . However, I would say it took me 9 whole attempts to make through the Toefl exam.
It is not new to say that this exam is a very subjective one and I would encourage people that are still on it not to feel they are not up to the task .
I actually passed the exam by rescoring, after reading other people’s comment about rescoring I started to make use of it. Every time I got back my scores I made sure I rescored, and I would tell you that hardly did the score ever remain the same. This proved it further to me that scores most of the time depends on who is scoring you. I also encouraged a friend to do the same, as she was writing the exam just about the same number of times I was writing it. She could not believe that she made it, she was very glad she did.
Now coming to my advice , I would say to pass this examination you need determination , I bought books although they did not help much because at my level I did not believe that one can teach you how to speak but one need tips and templates to use to answer this questions .
Secondly, write the exam more often, I know it is an expensive venture but to pass you have to give it what it takes.
Then make use of rescoring, at least you would have another person score you again.
I believe pharmacy school is not an easy course to study and those who have excelled at this honourable and highly priced profession can make it, at anything in life.
All in all believe in yourself and trust GOD because he alone can re-write a man’s destiny and make your dreams come true as he did with mine.
Cheers
Temitope
