Does anyone has an idea about the quality of this course.
I have got an offer for this course.
This is the second year for this particular course..The first batch of students were accepted in 2007.
The course offered is :
Master of Science in Information and Computer Science
with a Concentration in Embedded Systems
It has first 5 weeks of study at Irvine, followed up by 9 months in Italy, and then again 5 weeks in Irvine.
This course would be over in 12-15 months as compared to 21-24 months for the usual MS courses.
Now My queries:
1. Does this reduced duration for the course would have any bearing on the employment opportunities...specifically, would companies give suitable consideration to this course, when comparing other candidates with normal duration MS.
2. No financial Aid is being offerred for this course.
Tuition and fees are $5250 per quarter/session.
So, is the expenditure worth it for a "new" course ?
3. The course would be taught by UCI Faculty (in English); Still would the quality of the course would be at par with UCI main campus ?
Please share your opinion on this, as I have to send my acknowledgement by 20th May '08.
