My question to you:
Did you see any "unfamiliar" Quant questions?
That is, did you find yourself saying, "Oh yeah, I remember solving a question just like this one", or was it more like, "OK, never seen this, but I know what to do".
Tips to vastly improve verbal (as I have):
My verbal scores were pretty low the first time I took it, no studying. I bought an electronic dictionary and studied every chance I got. It's made a HUGE difference, I'm surprised I haven't seen that tip anywhere else. Make sure you read the thesaurus entry for each word you don't know.
Also try to find well-read colleague with which you can discuss shades of meanings of your new words.
I also did a lot of "speed reading" exercises to raise speed and comprehension. You'll find these in any decent book on-topic, check Amazon.
