Yes, that's what burnish means
: 1.to polish (a surface) by friction. You don't just put varnish on wood to make it shine, you put it on to
protect the wood from scratches and waring from age and use. This is the same for waxing a floor. Wax provides a protective coating so that the floor doesn't get scratched up while also making it shine. That's why this is the right answer. If shine were the only factor, burnish : Metal could work just as well.
