manuuuu just joined TestMagic.
adverbs should modify verbs -- In A, sharply should follow the verb "rise"
The correct sentence would be "If present metal prices continue to rise sharply" but we're not given this option in the answer choices.
Choice C is correct because it uses "sharp" as an adjective
