The GMAT is much harder. Well, for most people it is. I could see how the SAT could be harder for some--it contains a lot of vocabulary-based questions.
The best thing to do would be for you to take a practice GMAT and a practice SAT and compare your scores.
I really couldn't say for sure what your recruiters would say, but since the SAT is intended for high school seniors and the GMAT is designed to test college graduates, I could easily imagine that a GMAT score would surely be accepted by these recruiters.
