knok, I think you are out of touch with the pharmacy profession here in America. The profession is moving so fast that in few years it will be way different from what it is now. The current economic problems has a small effect on it. Big cooperates like Walgreens and walmart and CVS are planning for ahead, they are coming up with so many ideas and projects to deal with pharmacist shortages.

The new project that walgreens introduced in Orlando florida is a prime example. It is called POWER project, and because of it, pharmacy jobs are scarce out. This is one of many projects they are trying out. Imagine this project displaces close to 50 pharmacists and technician from stores and make them redundant. Even with baby boomers expected increase in prescription volume, they will be more than equiped to deal with it. Honestly, the retail pharmacy will be dramatically changed forever, and the sad part of this, things will be much harder for inernational pharmacists.

One last note here, I am not talking here about those who are here for financial reasons, but this is across the board, everyone will be affected.
