Hi Guys,

I finished my GMATexam this wednesday with a dissapointing score of 640(49q, 29 v). I am pretty dissapointed with my verbal score of 29 after all the hardwork that I did to improve on this section.

GMAT PREPARATION MATERIAL

Quants:- Official Guide 11, OG 10, questions from this forum

Verbal:- Official Guide 11, 0G 10, Manhattan Sentence Correction guide and questions from this forum

Practice Test Scores

GMAT PREP 1 - 690
GMAT PREP 2 - 640
GMAT PREP 3 - 720( 2 questions repeated in the verbal section)
GMAT PREP 4 - 720( 3 questions repeated in the verbal section)

Manhattan GMAT 1 - 600
Manhattan GMAT 2 - 640
Manhattan GMAT 3 - 660
Manhattan GMAT 4 - 670
Manhattan GMAT 5 - 640
Manhattan GMAT 6 - 700

I found the quants section of the Manhattan tests always tougher than the GMAT prep and real GMAT questions but these tests provided excellent explanation for each and every question(both in quants and verbal section) and helped me a lot in my strategy and preparation.

G-day experience

I started the AWA section nervously. Adapted myself with the test environment in 5-6 minutes and then went on well with this section.

The quants section started well and I answered most of the questions confidently apart from some lengthy questions which I had to guess because I was short of time. After the quants section I knew that I hadn't given done my best but was sure that I will get a score of 49 in this section.

The verbal section had a jittery start with all the pressure on me as I knew that this was the section which I had to ace if I really needed a score above 700 in the exam. After answering the first 3-4 questions I adjusted myself with the exam and was going pretty confidently(ironically I was wrong as my verbal score suggests).

I finished the verbal section on time expecting a score around 700(atleast 39 in verbal) but was really dissapointed after I saw my score of 640.

I had two things running on mind when I saw the screen - this score will not take me anywhere(atleast not to the college where I am planning to go) and I have to retake the GMAT exam and ace the english section next time.

I hope that I will be able to overcome the trauma of english in my next attempt.
