Is it the right time for Masters ??
Hi,
Ive got an admission in NCSU, ASU, Suny Buffallo. I have decided on NCSU after going thru various posts. Im an international Student and im dependent completely on a loan either in the form of funding in the US later on or through an educational loan from India. Now that al the admission process is over lot of people are advising against goin for and MS (Fall 2009).
they say--
"With the recession and everything the possible funding in the form of the on-campus jobs(2009-10) and on-campus placement and internship(2010-11) are rather dull. Rather than saying dull we they say there is a lot of uncertainty(part-time and post ms job). Also that the H1B visa issue is also not clear. With the tax incentive and other pro american measures, there is a lot of doubt about the job prospects post MS for international students"
Right now im employed in a IT firm (joined in Feb 09). And i have been given an option of deferring my NCSU offer til Fall 2010. So since i have nothin to loose(not waste of a year as im employed) is it ok if i simply defer and let things get sorted out a little as the post MS job is very important to me. I cannot at any cost afford to loose it as il be completely on a loan and need to repay it.
Please give me an insight along these lines clarifying the above as myth or fact. Im sure lot of people out there are wondering the same...
