Now if you go ahead a bit in the future, two years from now economy will improve and surely many job opportunities will be there. So right after you complete your MS you might just land up in a good job.
And about on campus jobs there would be plenty available , which would cover your living expenses. If you manage to get a TA or RA or GA you would'nt need to worry about the tution fees too.

thank you dirtman, What would be the disadvantages if i defer by one year, as i would rather play safe and not risk things even a bit ! and another thing when exactly will we apply for a job(career fair or online or consultants)? after the first year or after 2 years. I read in a couple of places that every 6 months there would be one and you can start attending after your first year or 3 semesters. In my country we have our campus placements in the final year. not after we finish.
