hi tortois,
congrats on your success. I feel myself lucky to find your post here as at this very moment I was searching for suitable institutions for me to apply. im a civil engg graduate from pakistan presently employed in a govt deptt. I took GRE on march 31 and got 1490 (V-720 and Q-770) and waiting for AWA scores yet. im sure to win financial support from govt for masters studies leading to PhD and the ceiling for this support is as under: 1st year of studies Actual or to the maximum of US$30,000 2nd year of studies Actual or to the maximum of US$25,000 3rd year of studies Actual or to the maximum of US$20,000 4th year of studies Actual or to the maximum of US$15,000 i have had about 1 year of work experience and my grades in engg studies were ok, nothing to boast of, maybe I was in the top 20% i'd really appreciate if you can give me some guidelines keeping in view all the factors that I described. the govt here has announced a list of recognized univs. please have a look at the univs for USA here http://www.hec.gov.pk/new2/htmls/overseas/index.htm select List of Universities approved by HEC for Overseas Scholarship i tried to browse through sites of these univs but I have a lot of questions to ask and I hope that you'l spare some time for guiding me. thanks a lot, wishing you success in whatever you do, Israr. |
