I found this site today, and it is GREAT! I just wanted to share my results, too.
*UC Berkeley - accepted *UT Austin - accepted *Stanford - accepted *Northwestern - accepted *Cornell - accepted *Columbia - rejected *UIUC, MIT - still waiting I applied as MS, CM(construction management). Only Berkeley offered me some aid and others I think I have to pay all the tuition myself . I think the problem was that I never contact any professors while I was preparing my application.Columbia was one of my best choice, but they rejected. I'm actually having a hard time deciding which univ. to go. What decision would you guys make? |

Awesome! Looking at your list, I feel sorry for columbia
I bet you'll have a hard time choosing from this elite list. I believe a student like you will get some aid/TA/RA and you'll do just fine! But whatever choice you make, you are going into a great university for sure. ![]() |

Hi
That sounds really great. Congratulations. I am an Architect. And even I am planning to pursue my MS. in Construction Management. Right now I am living in Michigan with my husband. So I applied only to Michigan State University and University of Michigan. I have got admission in MSU and very positive about my admission in UM too. We are in a dilema whether to select one among this or should I have to apply for any other high ranking Universities. Do u know about the job prospectus for this Masters program. And do u know where the college ranking matters a lot while applying for jobs in this field. Any help in this regard is highly appreciated Congratulations once again. By the way what are your GRE and TOEFL scores. Did u have any work experience. |

Hi,
Thanks, Pranavi2004. My major was civil eng. when I was in collage. And actually I have the same question u asked about job opportunities. I hope someone could answer this question. My GRE was 450(v)-800(q)-4.0(a) and TOEFL was 260. I worked in Korea for 3 years, but it was in a different field, Environmental IT Co. Hope this helps. Congratulations to you, too. I'm sure you're gonna hear good news from UM. |

Hi,
Thanks for your reply tortois1. Thats a good score, esp. in Quans. I got pretty less score in that, though I expected to score high. I couldn't finish that section in time and I made a silly mistake in one of the first few questions. I am actually feeling a little bit sad about that, as I usually do well in Math. Other than that there is a lot of similarity in our scores and experience. My scores are GRE - 1320 Verbal-600 Quans-720 AW-4.0 . TOEFL-260. And 2 years of work experience. So, have u made a decision about which University to attend. Are u joining for this Fall 2004. Let us know about your decision, once u make up your mind. Regarding job oppurtunities, as far as I know, one of my friend from Stanford has got good job. And one from UIUC has also started working. As u say, it would be good if somebody could answer this question well. What I am worried is does the ranking of the college matter in getting a Job in this field. If yes, then where does MSU and UM stand in that. If I have to stay in Michigan then these are the only 2 premier institutions here. Any answer in this regard would be highly appreciated. Thanks once again for your wishes and for increasing my positive attitude towards the results of UM. You need not worry about the rejection from Columbia. Because all the other institutions are in no way inferior to that. GOOD LUCK. |

Hi
thanks Pranavi2004, and all. Sorry for the late reply, i've been working on something. first of all, I still have a question mark on the stuff you asked about the relation with a higher rank and job opportunity. I just believe that how hard the student works on his job most depends on his career. So I actually decided where to go. many people told me austin has an excellent curriculum in my field. I still have no answers from UIUC and MIT but I decided to go to UT. I'm gonna send acceptance mail today. good luck everyone. I hope you guys choose the best schools for yourself. hey Pranavi2004, havn't heard any words from UM? |

Hi,
Thats a good choice tortois1. Best wishes for your future endeavours. As you say I think how hard we work and how much more we add on to our acheivements lists also counts to some extent. I haven't yet heard from UM. But have decided to choose one among these two and go ahead. Good luck to all. |
