That is huge, congrats mate
Finally got my first notice today, and a positive one!
I got an e-mail around 3 pm today that I've been recommended by the CS department for admission into the CS PhD program at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. The e-mail said I'd receive a letter from the university's graduate school with the official offer, and that I'll also receive information on a merit-based financial aid package sometime soon.
1 down, 10 to go

Thanks ritwik!
Also, I forgot to mention they invited me to visit for an open house day in late March, with pretty much all expenses paid. They said the purpose of the visit is to allow me to assess how well their program matches my research interests and career goals, so it doesn't really sound like an interview as much as a chance for me to meet professors, etc.

Wow, sounds great!Congratulations and Best of Luck!
@bigred : What is a "buckeye"?

I realize it's a downright horrible reason not to apply somewhere, but oh well. It's also hard to explain to people that don't live in the two states just how crazy people are about it.
Any buckeyes or wolverines out there to vouch for this??
