Hi Michael (if I am not mistaken
),Hearty congratulations! UIUC is a great school for CS. I'm still waiting for the good news from Urbana. I guess you might wanna wait for UWisc for obvious reasons ![]() Dude...you are light ages ahead of me...I checked out your profile and certainly hope you'll get admit letters from MIT, CalTech and Berkeley. Cheers!

~Creativo Genio~ Econ Fan Club Agente Especial Testmagic Police Department I am very mad at people that characterize as stupid/smart other persons/themselves based solely on a stupid and meaningless GRE score. Smartness/Stupidness cannot be judged until you get to know each person in depth, and certainly it cannot be measured by test scores. Other factors, such as organization, perseverence, modesty, responsiveness, honesty, effort, kindness, sincereness, and overall spirit are by far more important in evaluating one's intelligence! - Econ |

gforce: I assume you found my website.
Thanks for the encouragement, I hope you hear from Urbana soon as well!bnm: I'm just not a big believer in standardized testing. The CS GRE was decent in that it tested a fairly broad spectrum of topics, but it's one of those things you try to trick, not something that motivates you to learn all of its topics. Maybe I'm wrong about that, I guess as I'm writing I realize that it was a pretty good test of my CS curriculum, maybe I should change my attitude... ![]() On the other hand, I don't think I'll ever be a big believer in the general. I just don't see how a speed test of tenth-grade max math and dictionary retention is a predictor for graduate school success. But, others who are older and wiser do, apparently! |

Re: UIUC, UMN, Madison, IAState
kamer: that makes sense, thanks for explaining.
They have two times students can visit: mid March and early April. I really don't see why your chances would end at that point though, what if somebody rejects after they visit?ChoBaka: I was coming to the same conclusion you did while I was writing the sentence about the subject test. ![]() Last edited by lemaymd : 02-24-2005 at 09:33 PM.
