Thanks everyone for the steady flow of either news or notes saying that you, too, are still waiting... I've heard from 2 of my 11 schools and am getting pretty anxious to hear more.
If you have not already heard of it (i don't think it was posted here yet), you should check out www.whogotin.com. This site basically lets you post and track acceptance/rejection notices, and it's already got over 700 listings (for many different schools and departments). I've been checking it pretty much constantly, so I figured a lot of people here might want to check it out, too.Obviously, keep the news and discussion going here, but if you want a systematic way of checking who's heard what, that site is pretty cool. It looks very professional (and sorta corporate), but that's just because the person who created it wanted it to be a portfolio piece. It's really just made by some students in a similar situation as all of us.

yeah, i wish they'd fix the sorting so it always put listings in alphabetical order (per program or per school) so results from the same school would get lumped together. there was talk about this in the livejournal community where this idea originated, but i guess the site creators just haven't gotten around to making the updates.Originally Posted by bubobi

I am very mad at people that characterize as stupid/smart other persons/themselves based solely on a stupid and meaningless GRE score. Smartness/Stupidness cannot be judged until you get to know each person in depth, and certainly it cannot be measured by test scores. Other factors, such as organization, perseverence, modesty, responsiveness, honesty, effort, kindness, sincereness, and overall spirit are by far more important in evaluating one's intelligence!

Okay, one thing I don't understand is why do schools "call" you about rejecting you? Is it like a secretary calling and say the standard "sorry, you are a great candidate, but we cannot offer you admission...." or is it a professor calling saying that they really liked you and think you have great potential, but their spaces are too few. You know what I mean? If a school is rejecting me, I'd rather they not call me, email or letter is fine. Any thoughts?
