Rejection from Brown
Boooo.... our department just hired one of their guys and he wrote me a recommendation.... what gives?
Oh well, it certainly makes my decision process easier: Oxford, here I come! I wonder what they will think when I'm sitting on an Oxford MSc? |

 Best luck, what other programs are you waiting for to reply? P.S. A friend of mine also got a rejection email from Brown econ phd program. So, if anyone hasn't heard (fellowship or reject) he/she must be on the waiting list for funding |

Hey guys,
Econ, thanks for your support .NYU and Chicago made their decisions recently, but I think they are dealing with the paperwork. Moreover, Stanford has also finished the job. Next week NYU will definitely send the notifications. Chicago will start mailing out. It means that at the end of next week, or at the beginning of the week after next week we will hear from them. My friend in Yale told me that I am on the borderline of acceptence. So this is a really stressful weekend for me. I got up at 6 am. Ooohh ****!! I think I am waitlisted at Brown since I didnt hear any rejections yesterday. I dont believe UCSD will accept me, although they've indicated that I am waitlisted. I guess all of the schools treat me differently since I have my own fellowship and funding. I am getting really nervous and wanna screaaaaaam to decharge my stress. |

Kargos, I am sorry for the rejection. But personally, I would prefer Oxford to Brown if I had gotten an equally funded offer from both. If you compare their placement history you will see that Oxford's academic placements are definitely better than that of Brown.
Hey cliff dont get angry with me  . I know that you hold a Brown offer and maybe I also will. But we have to realistically deal with the concerns of our friends as Kargos.I know Econ will not get angry with my remarks . (Let me tell you a secret: he will get an offer from MIT... ssshhh, dont tell him.. surprise!)Best luck to all of you! |
