Econ Phd - In at Chicago
in at Chicago by post, stamped March 1. No funding - which is okay, because I don't think I would be happy there anyway. I've heard absolutely awful things about student climate. No news from the rest of the Big 5 for me.
My top pick of my admits is still Yale ![]() |

~Creativo Genio~ Econ Fan Club Agente Especial Testmagic Police Department I am very mad at people that characterize as stupid/smart other persons/themselves based solely on a stupid and meaningless GRE score. Smartness/Stupidness cannot be judged until you get to know each person in depth, and certainly it cannot be measured by test scores. Other factors, such as organization, perseverence, modesty, responsiveness, honesty, effort, kindness, sincereness, and overall spirit are by far more important in evaluating one's intelligence! - Econ |

Congrats!!! It's still phenomenal even without funding. I'm glad they are not making your decision of going to Yale any harder.

Re: Econ Phd - In at Chicago
thanks guys. I guess I should give a small update of my situation too?
In Brown (Fellowship, turned down) UCSD (TA) UCLA (No funding) Yale (Fellowship) Rochester (Fellowship) Chicago (No funding) No rejects so far, waiting on 10 more schools. but I haven't heard anything from Princeton, Stanford, UMN, NW yet, so that bodes ill I think. but I odn't care because I <3 Yale ![]() |
