Umich EE admission
Just received this afternoon. 3:19pm EST. This is my first admission. Dear Mr. XXX: It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Electrical Engineering graduate program at The University of Michigan has now approved your application for admission. Your application has been forwarded with our recommendation to the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies, which will advise you officially regarding your admission. If you have applied for financial aid, please note that decisions for financial aid are considered separately. We will notify you and the Rackham Graduate School of any financial aid award as soon as a decision has been made. Over the next few months, we will be sending you additional information about your financial aid status, registration procedures, etc. ..... Sincerely, My area: EM/microwave circuits still waiting: Stanford, Caltech, UCSD, GAtech, UCSD. Last edited by fdtd : 03-09-2005 at 09:40 PM. |

Re: Umich EE admission
Congrats!!!
Got that same e-mail too. However phrasing is a bit different: Financial aid decisions are made separately, and you will be notified by us if you are selected for an award. Most decisions are made by April 15. Please advise us of any email or address chanes so we may remain in touch with you. THAT'S ___RIDICULOUS___!!!! How can I risk rejecting other offers by April 15 if they do not even guarantee ANY fin.aid at all!!! ("if you're selected..."). I'm shocked... Writing a puzzled e-mail back to them... |

What do you think about this ambiguous fin.aid stuff? I hope they'll update Wolverine account by April 1 (there is a list of fin.aid offers), or I'm considering this admit as a reject... By the way, UMICH Ann Arbor is a top-notch school for EE. My perception is that it is more inclined to applications and industry, however. |
