    Once I asked the grad director of a UK Economics dept that sent me an offer for Econ MSc if I can take as optional courses undergrad/grad math courses like Analysis, Differential Equations,Optimization etc and he told me no. Then I asked again and I said that these courses (or their equivalent knowledge) stated as requirements in the websites of Top US Econ PhD programs and he told me: "Well...you'll come here to do a simple MSc, not to prepare for Top Econ PhDs." (Of course I never enrolled to this MSc).

    I'd prefer(or hope!) getting into queen's, 'cause my interest field is econometrics- some big name econometrician at lse recommended it to me(though barely affected my decision)
    want to get an acceptance mail!!!!!! does it really exist???????????
