Arrow Minnesota Econ - recruitment weekend

Hi everyone !
I'm new to this forum, but already find the so-called "econ crowd" a lot of fun I wish I discovered it earlier in the application process..

I have the same offer from Minnesota as Econ described in one of the threads.. I also saw other people with admits from there - congrats!!!

So, here is my question: anyone planning on visiting Minnesota during their recruitment weekend?

Congratulations and Welcome to Testmagic! The Econ gang will be in to answer you in a short while. Meanwhile pull up a cushion and feel at home.

Re: Minnesota Econ - recruitment weekend

congrats xen. i will not be going to UMN, as I did not hear from them one way or another. As you can see our admit history though, it's not quite fair we can't see yours! - where else did you receive offers from, and which are you considering accepting? best luck deciding, and i hope you enjoy the trip to Minneapolis which is, from all reports, a very progressive and cosmopolitan town

oh yeah, cliff, Minnesota is definitely my #1 choice and Penn State's decision becomes irrelevant..

Re: Minnesota Econ - recruitment weekend

congrats on your admits! I think Minn is the way to go, too
I should probably call them and withdraw my application, as I don't want to clog up the waitlist (I already have other offers I am considering)....

what's your area of interest? (I'm macro/development I think)

Re: Minnesota Econ - recruitment weekend

Thanks, cliff !!!

i'm into open macro, more specifically sovereign debt crises, financial contagion...

But anyway, is there anyone planning on visiting Minnesota during their recruitment weekend besides me?

Re: Minnesota Econ - recruitment weekend

Welcome to TM, dear Xenoone!!! Nice to have you here

Also, many congrats: Minnesota is an excellent place and the offer you have is just awesome. (I declined mine's approximately 2-3 weeks ago). Have fun and keep posting here as much as you can

P.S. I am a little jealous that you and klim will be classmates!!! Hopefully I will be with at least one member of the econ team
