In at Univ. College London MSc Econ (no tuition?)

You've read it in the headline. Nothing exciting, not after LSE MSc Econ. I cannot find a reason why someone admitted to both programs would attend UCL over LSE if s/he had to pay full fees at UCL (7,000 pounds less than LSE). S/he can take a loan and go for LSE MSc Econ which is unquestionably more reputable. Moreover both programs are located in central London so the living expenses cannot be that different. I'll wait for Toronto and then I'm rejecting UCL and Warwick for sure and maybe I will try to deffer LSE (just in case).

I'm too tired to post more. I'm satisfied that I got in UCL. It would be pretty weird not to.

Re: In at Univ. College London MSc Econ (no tuition?)

Congratulations!

I have also applied the UCLīs MSc but havenīt heard from them... Perhaps because my application was not complete by the deadline (my stuff arrived a day earlier, but I have only received a letter from ETS saying that they reported my score to UCL yesterday ). Anyway, can you tell if they are sending letters of acceptance or e-mails (or both)?

Well, not a suprise there, congratulations my friend for the admit!

Wait, because I just woke up and I am a bit confused: what does it mean ''no tuition?'' in your title? no tuition waiver or no tuition needed to pay (i.e. that you earned a tuition waiver)?

From the tone and the content of your post I deduce that it is the former, but please clarrify this . In this case, yes, I agree that you can safely reject the offer.

Best luck with UoT

Congrats

I am very mad at people that characterize as stupid/smart other persons/themselves based solely on a stupid and meaningless GRE score. Smartness/Stupidness cannot be judged until you get to know each person in depth, and certainly it cannot be measured by test scores. Other factors, such as organization, perseverence, modesty, responsiveness, honesty, effort, kindness, sincereness, and overall spirit are by far more important in evaluating one's intelligence!

Congrats for your admit gstergia!

However, I would definitely and without any hesitation prefer UCL over LSE, regardless of the fee matters.

I got a last minute upgrade from one of my offers, which is really hard to turn down. So, I am confused again.

I think a tuition waiver is involved but it is not clear from the paper letter. Most probably there will be no tuition waiver because if there was one, why not make it clear and with huge letters in the admit letter?

DON'T WORRY ! To my experience UCL not only has snail-speed for reviewing applications. It took more than 3 weeks from the time I received the confirmation that my application was received and it is complete to get the offer letter. (and I live 1 hour from London!)
