MS in ECE: CMU vs. UIUC

I've been accepted to both CMU and UIUC for a master's in ECE. While UIUC is a bit cheaper and has an excellent reputation in ECE, CMU has more courses related to my interest, digital IC design. Anybody have any advice or suggestions on which school would be better for someone who only wants a MS, not a PhD and is trying to get the best education for a position in industry, as opposed to academia?

Thanks, and good luck to anybody still waiting.

I recommend UIUC since it has excellent industry placements.

Re: MS in ECE: CMU vs. UIUC

Can you guys offer any direct evidence for UIUC being superior to CMU in industry relationships and placements? I've been looking at the available courses at both schools, and CMU just seems to have a better selection in digital IC design. However, finding a top paying job at a great company like Intel or AMD after I graduate is the most important consideration for me. Is a master's from UIUC really going to give me an edge in finding a job over getting it from CMU?

Thanks for your help.

I think you answer your own question... "CMU has more... related to my interests". Now for some warm&fuzzy advice... pick a school... do well... the jobs will be there as these are both fine institutions... also keep in mind the location and your hobbies...

Now for some pragmatic advice... UIUC probably has more alumni out there looking to recruit... If $$$ is an issue, spend less here.... huge school with plenty of opportunities... CMU/ECE is built upon industry partnership with faculty research... translates to high visibility come job hunting time..
