help me choose b/w NCSU SYRACUSE SUNYSB Univ of missouri columbia

Hi everybody
I have got admitted to these four univ for MS EE with no aid except in Syracuse which is giving me 40% tuition waiver. But I am really confused as to which to decide. I think NCSU is obviously the best among these but the aid situation is not at all gud there. And I have read tht Syracuse is not a gud univ and tht it has got a bad reputation. Is this true. So I am really confusd as to which to go for. Cud smbdy plz suggest

NCSU is the best amongst ur lot.
so it depends on what u wanna do with ur MS.
If aid is important for you go for syracuse.
If u can afford NCSU without aid go for it.
Syracuse does not a have a bad reputation as far as i know, If u are happy with ur courses at syracuse there go for it.

I too have got into NCSU EE. How is the Placement scene at NCSU. Do we get any on Campus job opportunities. What abt TA, RA after 1 semester. Atleast something might be good abt NCSU.

Do guide me .

aid scene at NCSU is not gud. but u can get oncampus jobs. even after first sem d possibilities are not tht gud. this is wht i got to knw by students who r studying there

This was the Reply regarding Aid from Pascale (Graduate Student Services Assistant)

"Unfortunately financial assistance is no longer available for fall 2005. We suggest that you enroll and prove your ability by performing well in our courses.

For other kind of financial assistance such as Research Assistantship, you can contact faculty members individually. You can search the department website for information on faculty at http://www.ece.ncsu.edu/.

I did Call those ppl and got to know that 20 aids were given(total students were 900). thats too less.

Now the problem is if we are paying this huge tution fee, there shuld be smthing convincing to go there.

Eg
Gud jobs
Good research
RA
or OnCampus jobs

something.....



Is there any student organization where we can get these things clarified

even i got d same mail. n total students were 900!!!!! isnt tht too much.
on campus jobs r easy to get as i said but aid scene is v bad. n i have heard tht job prospects r not gud either. but evrybdy says tht is in d research triangle park so i think research is gud. thts all i knw.
is this 900 d total no of graduate students or only for EE????

hey can u post ur details....did u mention any specilization.
I did mention DSP but in the acceptance letter no mention of that.
did call up those guys and got to know that the course structure is flexible and u can choose what u want..

as u said Job scene is bad....now i am in double minds..to go or not to go

ya i had also mentioned d specialisation (d same one) but i think tht doesnt make a difference
and i read abt d jobscene in d files section of yahoogrps-- ncsu-fall-2004
so i really dont knw wht to make of d job scene coz this info dates back to 2002
but i really think tht it is a gud univ and most prob i m headed there
