Whats Good Abt NCSU ?

I am not getting any good feedback abt NCSU as far as Aid , TA RA is concerned. Can anybody guide me whether to go For NCSU or wait for results from PSU and UCF and VT

When it comes to USnews ranking NCSU's EE department is pretty strong; It was 17th in 2002 (higher than Penn-state I think).

But It seems as if their admission rate has been really high this year and no aid is being given. Well at least, of those participating in this forum, I haven't seen anyone being rejected and on the other hand I haven't seen anyone getting aid (so far).

For instance I've been admitted too, while everywhere else rejected me (with GRE: 370/800/3.5)

Can I know your profile? and are you for MS or PHD?

Is VT (Virginia Tech) really that good? Keeping aside the USNEWS rankings, please state your opinion in terms of overall and CS reputation.

NCSU’s rank isn't too bad. But I think it really depends on the research you are interested in. Forget the ranking gibberish. Wait until all the universities you’ve applied to, give you their decision. If you need financial aid, wait until the 15th of April. Any school that is going to give you aid, should let you know by then. But even if non of them do (such as in my case), don’t worry. We’ve got long months left until next fall. Check out the professors at the universities you’ve been admitted to. You can pick one of them that does research in a feild that you're interested in, read his/her papers and try to work on a related subject. Who knows, you could even have a paper published before fall (most probably making it possible to start fall with an RA-ship).

Hey Brown.... I seriously need your help ...!!..congrats for your admit in NCSU....
here are my details ....please suggest what are my chances in NCSU and also suggest me some more universities...
GRE-1350..Verbal-550..Quant-800...AWA-3
Toefl-96
CGPA-6.12 till sixth semester ..
majors in electronics and instrumentation control...
1 paper presented and published ....in an NAtional level confrence of Instrumentation ....
My colllege reputation is quite decent ....couple of projects i ahve already done ....
project semester (6 months training ) is still left ...
recommendations include 2 profs...1 hod of my department ...
Please suggest me somethin ...i am really confused ....!!
