mayankag Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 Hey frens, i've been a passive user of testmagic until now. i recently gave my gre and got 790+590 = 1380. i secured 74% in college. i've completed my engg. from a B-grade university in India ( uttar pradesh tech. univ). My field of interest is Computer Science and have done my B.Tech in the same. I would like to know that what are my chances of getting admission in the following univs and whether they are good for Comp Sci ? University of Southern California Univ. of Pennsylvania univ. of california, santa barbara north carolina state university Your valuable suggestions would be very helpful !! U Penn doesn't take many students into BS/MS as it's not strong in it & also it's acceptance rate is around 12-15%.I doubt u'll make it to USC with 74%.ur GRE is OK. Anand Iyer Posted October 8, 2005 Share Posted October 8, 2005 Mayank, here is my view: If you are looking for aid, drop ALL the universities in your first list. USC, UPenn & NCSU might give you admits, but there is no aid at all these places. UCSB would be damn tough to get admitted. I would suggest you to go to different university websites, and see if there is any work going on which is in line with your interest. Then come up with a tentative list of 10-15 universities.
