Urgent-Spring 06-Explain prof's reply

On mailing a prof the reply was
"I am pleased to learn that you have been admitted
to our graduate program. I hope you will be able
to join in January 06. I will make sure your
name is on the list of candidates for
assistantships."

PLease advice me how should i comprehend it and how i should reply him.

It's a positive reply. But he will place you on the list with many other candidates. You should hang around him once you go to the campus.

It was for MS in EE at clemson univ for spring 2006.

I prof letted to all profs of the program for assistantship and i got reply from the chair, saying as above.
