Awesome...congratulations...although not much of a surprise considering the subject test score

I have applied to the Computational Biology track...have not heard anything from them yet...when did you get the news?

Also, the website says they require an interview...but you and another person who got in last year make no mention...wonder why they put that information up.

Here's the guy from last year:

    http://www.urch.com/forums/showthrea...light=yale+bbs (Yale!)

    (notice to talk abt interview)

If anyone else applied to Yale BBs (especially Bioinformatics section), PLEASE post here....we can keep each other in touch!

    You know whats sad....
This person could not have gotten into Yale BBS so soon.
    How do i know this?
Well for one the information on the internet provides the following:
    http://info.med.yale.edu/bbs/faq.html#admissions

    When will applicants be interviewed?
Each Track has a main interview weekend in February. The exact schedule is posted here: http://info.med.yale.edu/bbs/applT.html.

    Interviews
Applicants in the U.S. and Canada who are considered for admission will be invited for all-expenses paid on-campus interviews taking place in February. The main recruiting weekend for each Track are as follows:
February 3-4: Computational Biology and Bioinformatics; Immunology; Pharmacology and Molecular Medicine; Molecular Cell Biology, Genetics and Development

February 9-10: Physiology and Integrative Medical Biology; Microbiology; Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry; Molecular Cell Biology, Genetics and Development

    February 17-18: Neuroscience

Invitations to attend these recruiting weekends will be made by phone or email beginning in early January. International applicants who are considered for admission will be interviewed by phone in February and March.

Secondly, since i am also applying to the same program....I called and asked if they had given any admissions offers yet and she said "No...they havent even had recruitment weekends yet"

So case and point is that people lie on here for one reason or another....dont let others fool you.

    Pathetic really...

You can believe what you want. For whatever reason Yale decided to admit people before interviews this year. Not everything you read on the internet is entirely correct. I thought it was impossible at first (prank call?), but I have a letter and email now. I read something about things not being "official" until it's actually the University as opposed to the graduate department issuing the offer, so maybe that's the difference. Are you applying to the same BBS track - not all tracks have given admit offers as far I know.

    Whatever.

Best of luck on your application process. Hope nobody doubts your good news when it comes.
