I got in UMD too, and they stated that they nominated me for some addition fellowship that might be able to bring me a couple thousand extra than the stipend. But I still think Umich is better (better stipend too)... Still waiting for results.... |

Thanks a lot, folks!
Yep, UNC is cheaper than UMD. I'll go to both places for visiting weekend and share my experience with you. Cheers ![]()

Thanks, Asphalt
![]() I just came back from the visiting weekend at UNC. It seems that I'm in deep love with this school and I really amazed with the quality of the program, graduate students and professors there. Chemistry department has very good funds and very friendly community. It was ranked #1 for Analytical Chemistry and in top-15 for Chemistry in general (tied with Princeton, Yale and so on). Campus is very beautiful - a lot of trees and old buildings. Also, 5-acre garden right 5 min from my department. Rent is very reasonable. Restaraunts are cheap. A lot of woods and lakes around. 2-3 hours from ocean. And UNC basketball team just beat Duke! :^)
