Admitted to U of Iowa

Hello,

I had applied for PhD but they rejected my PhD application and gave me MCS.

As I see in their website, MCS is only a course-work based degree and no research. I have 90% intention to do PhD so if I do MCS, will I be eligible to do PhD later. I have mailed to U of Iowa but they have not replied so I was wondering if you can suggest something.

Also, I got admit in SUNY-Buffalo. Which one do you people suggest is better?

UoI is far better a school than sunyb...sunyb has been, for ages, hold the status of being a safe bet for mid-ranged (30-50) aspirants....
