Help with decision

Hello, I´ve been accepted at Duke University but I´m waiting the decision letter/email from the University of Chicago. It should arrive pretty soon but in the meantime I have to inform about my decision to the Department at Duke very very soon.

I would like to ask you if someone here would recommend me to say yes now and no later in case I´m finally accepted in Chicago.

Thanks a lot!

You can always say yes and no later. It can be done but depends on your own moral value. School do this all the time to ppl by placing students on wait list.

I am an international applicant. What I know from different people is that once you say yes to any university, they send you I-20 and you can get only one I-20. what do you say about this? and yes it really depends on ones moral values.

not an issue

most junta have 5-6 I-20s by the end of their applicatin season.

It would be a serious issue ONLY IF YOU HAVE BEEN OFFERED FINANCIAL AID BY ONE OR MORE OF YOUR UNIVERSITIES WHICH HAVE ACCEPTED YOU.

In which case most north american schools and those in Canada are part of the "Council of Graduate schools", so they share the funding information awarded to their students with all other schools.

If you accept a funded offer from one univ, then you cannot accept any other offer from any other school until you submit in writing to the school you accepted first seeking their permission to withdraw your application to them, and are granted the same.

So don't hurry if you are not sure, the deadline for accepting funded offers is April-15th.
