670v 800q 2.5 overall GPA

i know i really ****ed my gpa up, but i am trying hard this semester, it will be 2.7 by the end of it, but i dun think the statistics i send to the universities will care...


i am from umich undergrad CS department, my gpa is low coz i was a depressed sick lazy bag during first 2.5 years of my college. i've done some topcoder competition before.i really want to go to grad school, do you guys know any university will take such low GPA?

Don't be afraid too much abt admission. Apply rationally......I mean also apply in some mediocre uni even one to two low rank uni...as a back up.Apart from that try to attend some conferences that help to bolster your C.V skill.

If your GPA was 3.0 exactly I would say that you don't have any problem, this is not my words, these are the words of a prof in CMU

A 3.4 GPA from a top-ranked CS undergraduate program like CMU counts
the same as a 3.8 or 3.9 GPA from a less well-known CS undergraduate program.

Since you are not reaching the 3.0 cutoff, I would be afraid that the formula above won't stand. IMHO, your best bet is the Subject GRE
