Admission to U of Waterloo (MS/CS) ! Some confusions !!!
Hi !
Today's 3rd admission! I applied to MMath program at Waterloo. The detailed financial support for the 1st year is given as bellows: David R. Cheriton scholarship : $10,000 TA/RA : $26,121 International Masters Student Award: $4,368 Total : $40,489 However, there is no indication of tuition waiver. So I'm not very sure, how much does it stand reducing the tuition fee. The admission letter states something confusing: "For international students we provide additional funding equal to the difference between tuition fees charged to Canadian Residents and International Students". Thanks for your response on this regard. |

Could you tell me, how did you receive your official communication - by post or e-mail? P.S. You got the david cheriton schol! tht's great - i heard generally only phd candidates are considered for it. |

did you apply for Excellence scholarship at ETH-Zürich?? Without that it's not possible for international student to get full fund for their Masters program..... their maximum scholarship doesn't cover all of the expenses... and considering that factor.. you should go for U of Waterloo.. it's a great university... |

hey deadcoder, thnx for your post.
assuming I am getting full financial support in both the universities, which one would be better in terms of joining the industry after MS? [a recent salary survey suggests switzerland has the highest avg. pay for sw eng. and canada is just behind the US at around 8 or 9]. IT Pay around the World Survey 2007: Switzerland pays the highest salaries followed by Denmark, Belgium, UK and Ireland |
