Thank you friends! I applied to it in early Dec 2003. One more stat that may be useful for future aspirants is one of my recommenders is a Berkeley PhD alumnus. As you can see my AGRE is not high, neither are my verbal, AWA, TOEFL scores - but they are too bad either I guess. I think I got it mainly because of my recommendations, statement of purpose, relevant work experience (one patent pending invention and worked as architect for two products ground up) and Q800.
I thought some more people in this forum would get it in a top school. Esp I thought hendrik would get it, looking at his awesome AGRE score. Too bad to hear that hendrik. I am sure you will get it in some other top school. Good luck! Good luck to all who are still waiting. Btw, I called MIT and found out I have been rejected. I got neither rejection nor acceptance from any other schools yet. But I am extremely happy to live with the one I got. |

Also an early email notification from Berkeley and Feb 10 is early! has always implied financial support in the form of a fellowship.. so I guess congratulations are in order. Impressive stats. Also, nice to see another dude with relatively long industry experience getting back to school. We have more Ph.D. grads from Berkeley in the company I work for than from anywhere else and hence the comment about the fellowship. Anyways, good luck.
