Today is a great day....I am so excited I feel like I need to share my joy with you guys...just got admitted in the following schools

SUNY/Stony Brook - Phd Physics with Fellowship
UIUC - Phd Physics with assistanship
Cornell - rejected [!]

My profile, BS Mathematics/Physics, GPA 3.89, CUNY/City College
GRE V -640, Q-800, A-6.0
Subject GRE Mathematics 890
Physics 770

I think I will pick Stony Brook cause I have a fellowship there and its a great school, I have visited the school before I like the department....Good luck to all of ya guys

Hi, congratulations. I'm an international student and I also got admitted to SUNY-SB PhD Physics with a teaching assistantship.

I am also considerng going to SUNY-SB. My other choices are Pitt and Virginia. I'm just worried that the living expenses in SUNY-SB may be too high. I'll be living on the money I'll get from the assistantship alone. Another thing is that it seems one needs a car if one lives off-campus. If ever I'll go there, I hope I can live on-campus for the most part of my stay.
