Erin
As you can see, the forum is now running the latest version of the software, which has a number of added features, including blogs, social groups, friending, and more. I still need to re-add a lot of things, tweak the graphics, change the logo, etc., but since there were a lot of things still left broken after the great outage from a couple of weeks ago, I decided to perform the complete upgrade now, hoping that I'd solve more problems than I created by upgrading. If you encounter any problems, please let me know. I hope you'll enjoy the new features. Please let me know your thoughts. :)
Erin
Forum updated again to the latest and greatest version. Let me know if something looks or seems out of whack.
asquare
Hi Erin. Thanks for the upgrade :D The link to the user control panel seems to have disappeared though -- it used to be between "My profile" and "Log out" at the top right of each page, but now it's not. The control panel is still accessible by typing in the URL (http://www.www.urch.com/forums/usercp.php) into the browser, but it would be nice to have the link back. A smaller issue is that the current page number is no longer highlighted in the list of page numbers at the bottom of multi-page threads. Erin
Hi, asquare. I noticed that, too, after upgrading. That's kind of weird. Worse, I don't see any links under the other menus. I'll look into it. And you may notice the ubiquitous Facebook like buttons now. Just hadda do it.
Erin
Ah, it's back, at the top. It says My TestMagic. There were still a couple of things to tidy up before completing the upgrade. For what it's worth, this upgrade went really well. Very easy.
Erin
Updated to the newest version. You may notice that the editor has been improved and now has a nifty auto-save feature, so fewer (or no?) lost posts.
Erin
We had some downtime, but the forum is back up now.
Erin
Just so everyone knows, I'll be making some minor changes to the look of the forum over the course of the next few days, weeks, months... years... :D My first goal is just to lighten things up a bit by adding some color. I really don't like some of the drab colors of the default forum.
Erin
Upgraded again. Some things might look different, namely some of the graphics.
Erin
Upgraded again, to the latest and the greatest. There should be some new features in here somewhere... :)
Erin
In case anyone's noticed, I've moved some of the forums, putting the 'deprecated' ones nearer the bottom and the ones I'd like to highlight nearer the top. Erin
Erin
Minor maintenance and security updates applied. It's possible that a few tweaks I've made in the past don't work. Please let me know if you see anything not working. Erin
Erin
Forum upgraded again, in preparation for some other changes. Let me know if you see anything that's not working as expected.
Erin
Just noticed that URLs (at least the ones that point to forum threads) aren't working properly. Example: http://www.www.urch.com/forums/test-forum/1532-smiley-traffic-light.html goes to: http://www.www.urch.com/forums/!1532!http://www.www.urch.com/forums/test-forum/1532-smiley-traffic-light.html I'm looking into this. Hopefully it'll be an easy fix.
Erin
Okay, got this fixed. Had to turn off a feature that apparently stopped working. (Might have to do with PHP5.) Please let me know if you find any other weirdness. :-)
