Re: Tsunami Relief - Please Donate
Adonis,
Thanks for the link. For the people in the US, It seems that this one is the best, right? A+ https://ssl.charityweb.net/mercycorps/giftbasket/donation.htm?pDonorIntent=SoutheastAsiaEarthquake& Custom15=wm However, I saw on CNN last night. Children program from UNICEF, the last link of your list. I saw that it got a F or D. It is not efficient. Please confirm if I am wrong. http://www.supportunicef.org/site/pp.asp?c=iuI1LdP0G&b=45523 100,000+ Hopefully, I wake up tomorrow morning, I am not going the get the total different number. ![]() Good night. Re: Tsunami Relief - Please Donate
Wenera,
I asked about the address since I was not sure about it. The address the embassy provided did not have attention to whom it may concern. It sounds that that address(Washington D.C) for the people walking in only. Imagine, the bank has a lot of mails each day. If there is no attention to whom, who is going to accept the letter. Also, I called to figure out to the bank. It turned out that the customer service gave a total different address. I don't know the virginia adress that has attention will go to Sri Lanka embassy or to other organization. I surely would like to have it send to Sri Lanka Embassy. What do you think? I am cooperating with all students and Thai community here in my city. Most people of Thai community in my city are doctors (>30 doctors or professors), professors teaching at Washington University. Some of them volunteer for the program of helping people without border. I need to have correct information. Thank you.

To be honest, I don't feel that I have the right to thank anybody on another's behalf for donating, especially when I was fortunately unaffected. But I would like to thank you for reading this thread.
I think this thread has served its purpose, and I will now un-sticky it. I think the next few years will be difficult for those affected by the tsunami, and I hope that the global economy will be just as generous in the future, even when the devastation is not so painfully apparent. |
