Hi again everyone!
First, Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs and suggestions. I was definitely in need of some. Then, the latest development is that I have received he admission letter form Ohio University, Athens today. They say, the decisions about financial aid will be made later. I also received an e-mail form Univ of Cincinnatti, saying that a decision has been made and the letters are being mailed. The remaining four universities are yet to respond. (Univ of South Carolina, on the other hand, is waitning for offical confirmation that I'd graduate with a first class - while my calculations say that even if I get a zilch in the exams whose results are yet to be declared, I will end up with an 80+ %.) Regarding the work experience, I was of the opinion that once students start working, they can no longer put the same amount of concentration into studies. I may be completely wrong, especially when it comes to MBA; for, I know a lot of people take up MBA after they are many years into their career. And, I might have been over excited by reading surveys like that of the OutLook Magazine. I now think that the rankings and placement records quoted might not be entirely realistic. But discouraged, I am not. Yes, I am finacially committed - would have to lose some 45K if i drop out. While mentally preparing myself for this, I decided not to concern myself with the admissions in the US universities. However, my sponsor (my dad ) told me that we can give them a shot if I get admission+aid in a decent university. So, that's how things stand as of now : MS in US not completely ruled out. |
