unlike the MS, the ME coursework can be completed remotely. i can't afford to quit my job and pay out of state tuition so i might do that. just wondering if anyone knows anything about it. tia

Colorado is pretty good I would say.

It is ranked 39th in the US News CS Rankings (2009).
URL: Search - Computer Science - Graduate Schools - Education - US News and World Report (http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/grad/com/search/page+2)

It has an excellent CS course selection. It has courses in the following areas.
1. Software Engineering
2. Object Oriented Programming
3. Parallel/Concurrency Computing
4. Embedded/Real-time Systems
5. Artificial Intelligence
6. Bioinformatics
7. User Interface Design
8. Cognitive Science

Unfortunately, ME programs are not as rigorous as MS programs. If your plans are for career development then it would be good, but if your plans are to eventually pursue a PhD then it would not be.
