Is it true that an early-decision application arises my chances? If not, which advantages do I get by applying so?

early action & early decision r two different things.
in early action,if u receive an accept from any one of the college,u are not obliged to withdraw ur apllications from other schools.But in Early Decision, if u get an accept from the school u would have to withdraw ur all applications from other schools.
This information is given any Test-Prep book.
To be eligible for Early Action(EA) or Early Decision(ED) u would have to get above 1400 in SAT-1(I don't know about NEW SAT as it of 2400, maybe 2150). Well the advantages u get r that u get ur decision in about a month or month & half from the time u submit ur application.The schools also get secured admissions.u r also competing against a group(students applying in EA or ED) which is less in quantity,but high in quality.
