babypurin 's dreams are becoming reality.
We need more information including,
-SAT/ACT score,
-class rank-if possible
-difficulty of classes (if that 2.6 GPA was from a full AP/IB courseload, it wont look as bad as a 2.6 with 'slack off' classes")
-extracurricular activities (not as important at state universities)

It would extremely hard to give you a college as we don't know where you live, or the geographic regions of the U.S. you are interested in. Once you give us more a personal profile, we can better help you.

Yes, you can get into a college with a 2.6 GPA, there are tons and tons of colleges, getting in to a quality college might be more difficult. You might think about doing 1-2 years at a Community COllege, doing better than a 2.6 GPA and then transferring to an excellent institution. It is also a less expensive way to get and education because many of your community college classes will transfer so youdo not have to spend tutition on paying for stuff like basic science classes that are required but not interesting to you.. ie rocks for jocks...

I even knew somebody who transferred from a Community College to Harvard, so don't think of it as a point of total loss.

I got 2110 in SAT ( math - 800, cr - 640, writing - 670)
My average percentage is 82% ( I do not have GPA's)
Class rank: 2
Also do debate, play badminton and soccer, and take part in school theatre

I am yet to take my SAT II's

Is applying to a place like Dartmouth or Stanford a good idea?
