Jesuit Colleges
I go to a Jesuit high school in San Francisco called Saint Ignatius College Preparatory. We've got a great reputation with colleges such as Santa Clara University, USF, and Loyola Marymount. I guess I'm wondering if going to a Jesuit high school ups your chances of going to a Jesuit college. A representative from Loyola New Orleans told us we don't really get any extra points but it looks good to their colleges. What do you think my chances are of getting into a Jesuit university in California (or any decent non-CSU)? Any thoughts and/or ideas are welcome.
btw, I've got a 3.42 GPA, 2120 on the SAT, 31 on the ACT, and I'm president of three clubs, in the orchestra, mixed chorus, handbell choir, tech club, and club council. |

I don't know about the US, but here, Jesuit education has always had a good reputation, and the reputation of your high school can set you apart from the pack when you're applying to college, so, I guess you won't have too many problems getting into a good college, whether Jesuit or other.

I think I just want some community type atmosphere that's super liberal artsy... that's super spiritual... haha... kind of weird and can apply to a bunch of non-Jesuit schools, but I don't know. People say SCU is just like living at SI (my school), and I'm pretty bad at letting things go. Maybe that's part of why I like SCU so much?...

If it makes any difference, I got accepted to Georgetown University with full financial aid in my undergrads.
And, I am an international student from India from a Jesuit High School, St. Xavier's Collegiate School (which is one of the best high schools in India) I think that their is a slight difference. |

The Jesuit College Search service will assist you in finding the right undergraduate institution. It contains information about each of the Jesuit Colleges and Universities in the United States and will provide you with a list of the institutions that match your criteria.
