Question What are my chances

I am from India.
I have a US passport, but have studied here all my life (from grade 2)
Do I qualify as an International student?

I got 2110 in SAT ( math - 800, cr - 640, writing - 670) in june
My average percentage is 82% ( I do not have GPA's )
Class rank: 2

I am yet to take my SAT II's

Frankly what are my chances of a place like Stanford, Dartmouth or Princeton?

I have done many extra curricular activities
But I havent done much volunteer work (wuill that hurt my chances)

Also how many reco letters do u all advise?

Thanks in advance,
Antarius

-- What does your average percentage: 82% mean? Is that good? --

SAT: Try to raise that to 2200ish - remember you'll be competing against many people who have even higher than that.

SATII: Take 3 SATII's in a wide variety of breadths (don't take Math I and Math IIC, etc...) and try to get 700+ on all of them; 750+ would be even better.

Extra Curricular Activites: Don't have enough information to guage an opinion - although a few volunteer hours wouldn't hurt.

Recommendation Letters: Most colleges require 1-2 letters.

Chances at the current moment: Low - only because you are missing some of the most essential things for the colleges you are interested in.

82% is my average inb marks (we get it out of 100), 82% isnt bad as my class topper got 84%
My recos will be no problem, I am getting them

SAT II's I am planning on Math I,II Physics, Chemistry and Biology

I am aiming for engineering , what others should I take?

Also, Iwant to apply to Cornell.
Their percntages of admissions given are well in my SAT score
Is that a good indicator?

3 SATII's should be fine (Physics, Math IIC [don't take Math I; its unecessary] and Chemistry)

Raise your SAT score to 2200+ and you should be fine.

Do well in your senior year and if you play your cards right, you definitely have a shot at some of America's Top 20 schools.

It's is alright. Try to do the best you can on your SATII's - you still have a shot with your SAT I scores, but you have to remember that you will be competing against people who have much higher scores.

Having trouble with the SAT? Try the ACT

Accepted: American U., Northeastern U., Boston U., RPI, McGill (going to attend), and Penn State - University Park

hippityhop is on the way!
I agree that raising your SAT I score would increase your chances, but as you said you might not be able to retake it, try to do well on the SAT II's. Your average percentage could also use a little raising.

Some volunteer work would be nice, but I think that focusing on a few extracurricular activities and excelling in them would be more significant than volunteering for a short while, especially when your heart is probably not going to be in it. Also, leadership positions in your extracurricular activities aren't necessary, but would make a comparable difference.

Most colleges will specify how many letters of recommendation are required in their application. Stanford requires two letters of recommendation from teachers you've had in the 10th or 11th grades. You can also submit an optional third letter from a music teacher, coach, etc. if you desire.

Cornell may be a closer reach than Stanford or Princeton, yes, but they're all woth a shot, especially if you do well on your SAT II's.

Remember that statistics are important, but essays count for a lot, as well. Applying to the schools you named will require some insightful, creative essays.

Good luck with everything!
